The Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro, a Catholic private school, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, is based on the educational philosophy of their foundress, St. Julie

The High School Biology Teacher will be responsible for providing learning experiences and supervision of assigned students in a nurturing, supportive and positive classroom climate.
He/she will develop in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed
Massachusetts State Standards in Mathematics and Science, following the approved curricula and directives of the Academy. Achieving academic excellence requires that the High School
Biology Teacher work collaboratively with the school administration, faculty, staff, and parents.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Develop and implement comprehensive biology lesson plans in alignment with curriculum standards.
Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and informative biology lessons to students of various grade levels.
Student Assessment: Evaluate and assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects.
Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one assistance and guidance to students who may need additional help.
Lab Management: Oversee laboratory activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and experiments are conducted effectively.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment that promotes student participation and learning.
Parent Communication: Keep parents/guardians informed about student progress and address any concerns or inquiries.
Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of biology and continuously improve teaching methods.
Ability to teach other science courses, such as chemistry or anatomy, if needed.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Biology, biochemistry, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
● Teaching certification or licensure in Biology, preferred.
● Strong knowledge of biology concepts and the ability to convey them effectively.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Classroom management and instructional planning abilities.
● Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching.
● Willingness to work collaboratively.
● Willing to enter into extracurricular life at the school.
