SENIOR or MID-LEVEL HIGHWAY & BRIDGE PROJECT ENGINEER
LOCATION: RELOCATION TO TAMPA RQUIRED (No Remote)
COMPENSATION: OPEN

Our client is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Senior or Mid-Level Project Engineer to help lead our Highway & Bridge Construction Engineering and Inspection Team in Southwest Florida. This position has the option of being based from our client’s Tampa, Florida office.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Work involves planning, coordination and problem solving on a variety of complex projects, involving several disciplines, contractors and/or regulatory agencies for projects typically involving major roadway and bridge construction.
  • Leads subordinate internal staff involved in the observation, testing and sampling of construction materials, observation of construction work, and documentation of plan revisions and work progress.
  • Prepares and coordinates contract changes and supplemental agreements with client.
  • Provides fiscal management of construction office operations, monitoring costs and expenses, approving and dispersing funds, and coordinating accounting and cost allocation.
  • Performs non-manual field work that involves a combination of conventional and complex features, requiring the application of sound and diversified professional engineering knowledge in broad areas of assignments, usually including the coordination of various projects.
  • Interfaces internally with senior technical professionals, technical managers, and administrative staff and managers, as necessary.
  • Experience working with FDOT is preferred.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, plus fifteen years’ experience.
  • FDOT Advanced MOT or ability to achieve within 6 months.
  • Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination.
  • P.E is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Ability to direct complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program.
