Acadia Healthcare is Hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor II Near Wilmington, NC

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree in behavioral health/related
  • Field OR Bachelor's Degree in a related field with pending Master's Degree in behavioral health. required. Master's Degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
  • At least two years clinical experience specifically with chemically dependent / dually diagnosed population preferred.
  • CPR / CPI (Offered at facility).Certification, or willingness to pursue certification as a SubstanceAbuse Counselor preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor preferred. Current driver's license-Good DMV record.
  • Knowledge of 12-step recovery programs.
  • Ability to work with male/female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed/opiate dependent population.Must be able to work with culturally diverse populations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary responsibility for assigned caseload.
  • Prepares treatment plan for each patient
  • Conducts weekly treatment plan reviews and updates
  • Provides individual and group therapy and documents progress
  • Develops and presents didactic material to patients
  • Liaison between referral sources, insurance companies and patients
  • Conducts family interviewsand provides for referrals
  • Provides crisis intervention to patients
  • Assists with aftercare planning
  • Assists in training of new clinical staff
  • Participates on the interdisciplinary treatment team. This is a full time position:
Monday- Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm
