ACC Environmental Consultants, Inc., ACC, has an opportunity for an experienced client and people leader to join our team. ACC, an Employee-Owned Company, is seeking an experienced, and passionate Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) / Project Manager. A successful candidate will serve as an account manager for key accounts including private and public sector clients, reviewing RFPs and preparing proposals, work on multiple projects, understand the need for and be able to delegate responsibilities and to provide supervision to others. Candidate will act as the clients' representative and primary point of contact between the client and the project team. The candidate will be responsible to manage and work on building related environmental projects with a focus on asbestos, lead, water intrusion and indoor air quality projects. The candidate must be able to identify, evaluate and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The candidate will be experienced in preparing technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence to support existing clients and project portfolios, and expand our service offerings. Additionally, the candidate will mentor junior staff. CAC/Project Managers will attend regular scheduling meetings, coordinate assignment of field technicians, and spend time at projects sites throughout the Bay Area and Northern California area and occasionally throughout California. Essential Role and Responsibilities:
Participate in the industrial hygiene program including asbestos, lead and mold sampling and abatement oversight
Understanding of health and safety regulatory requirements, specifically Cal/OSHA standards, federal, state and local
Responding to indoor air quality complaints and providing recommendations
Participate in business development activities such as client development, trade shows, and brown bag presentations
Provide excellent customer service.
Collaborate with staff in multiple offices
Understand and implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
Ability to make recommendations for conceptual designs based on technical data.
Ability to develop written proposals to clients for both small and large projects.
Experienced in evaluating, and synthesizing complex laboratory and field data, and assembly in written reports.
Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection with ability to collect detailed site observations and notes.
Mentor, supervise, and oversee staff environmental scientists and technicians.
Demonstrate a commitment to follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects for incident and injury free operations.
Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Understand and follow project quality and corporate quality standards for all projects.
Qualifications:
Graduate with BA/BS in environmental sciences, health & safety, industrial hygiene or building related fields or more years of experience performing health/safety, environmental or industrial hygiene projects
Candidate should have 5 years of CAC experience
Cal-OSHA Certified Asbestos Consultant, California Department of Public Health (CADPH) Lead Inspector-Assessor or CDPH Lead Project Monitor Certifications
Competent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of building systems & construction techniques
Strong organizational abilities and strict attention to detail
Computer literate
Basic drafting skills
Ability to read & understand construction drawings (architectural & MEP)
Willing to travel, work evenings and weekends as projects require
Be in good physical health and able to wear respiratory and other personal protective equipment
Ability to climb ladders, navigate crawl spaces, lift/carry equipment (generally up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods of time.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
