ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly-qualified Math Interventionist at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy in Colorado Springs, CO dedicated to providing a superior education for all students for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. At Banning Lewis Ranch, we serve students in Grades K-5. Highlights include our Capturing Kid's Hearts Program, Celebration of Learning Nights, 5th Grade Capstone Field Trip to Washington DC, and a well-rounded student schedule that includes Spanish, Art, PE, Music & Technology.

At Banning Lewis Prep, we serve students in Grades 6-12. We carefully transition students into Middle School with purposeful social activities and programs as LEAD our leadership development program, sports through the Central Colorado Athletic League, and numerous clubs and electives. In High School, we offer traditions such as Homecoming, Prom, and Student Senate. We focus on Concurrent Enrollment opportunities, Service Learning Projects, Senior Capstone Projects, and college and career readiness (such as online courses, career & technical business programs, foreign exchange program opportunities and much more. At the High School level, our athletes compete in the Tri-Peaks League and have many additional extracurricular opportunities such as Mock Trial, Jazz & Concert Band, National Honor Society, and more.

About the Opportunity:

An Elementary Math Interventionist plays a crucial role in supporting students who are struggling with mathematical concepts in elementary school. This position involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to identify areas of difficulty, develop personalized intervention plans, and implement strategies to improve mathematical proficiency.

Responsibilities of the Math Interventionist include to-

  • Assessment and Evaluation :
    • Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and weaknesses in mathematics.
    • Analyze assessment data to determine areas of need and target specific learning goals.
    • Monitor students' progress over time and adjust intervention strategies accordingly.
  • Individualized Instruction :
    • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students who require additional support in math.
    • Develop and implement personalized intervention plans tailored to students' learning needs.
    • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to address diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaboration and Consultation :
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention activities with the curriculum and classroom instruction.
    • Consult with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to discuss student progress and develop effective intervention strategies.
    • Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on students' progress and strategies for support at home.
  • Resource Development :
    • Develop or adapt instructional materials and resources to support intervention activities.
    • Identify and recommend appropriate educational tools, manipulatives, and technology resources to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Professional Development :
    • Stay informed about best practices in mathematics instruction and intervention strategies.
    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to mathematics education.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share expertise and resources for improving student achievement in math.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting :
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention activities.
    • Prepare reports on student performance and intervention outcomes for stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and parents.
    • Use data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies and make recommendations for improvement.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
