Description

The staff accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, actively participating in the month-close process, and assisting with financial statement preparation. You will also be assisting the business as needed, responding to information requests by management, colleagues, and external partners.

Essential Functions:

• Performs general accounting, reconciliations, and other related duties for the organization.
• Participates in our standard month-end close processes, booking scheduled journal entries, analyzing financial information, and helping to consolidate our ledgers.
• Assists management in preparing annual and quarter financial statements filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
• Supports the audit function by responding timely to relevant requests.
• Gains and maintains working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Obtains familiarity with our documented Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and helps the business ensure their effectiveness.
• Conducts analyses related to income, expenses, cash flows and other ad hoc matters as requested by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field

• At least 1 year of related experience with publicly traded business or audit firm preferred.

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting
• Technically adept; Proficient with Microsoft Excel; Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to work in a supportive, dynamic team setting.
