VM Development Group, LLC is looking for a construction foreman to coordinate and supervise our construction team of crew members. The foreman will be responsible for training new workers and will work closely with VM ownership and Project management team to coordinate construction work. They will also maintain construction schedules set by ownership; manage and train staff; ensure construction equipment is maintained; and keep projects on schedule. The candidate should be extremely organized with excellent time management, leadership, communication and project management skills.
Job Responsibilities
o Read project plans, drawings, specifications, and blueprints
o Create and manage schedules and monitor attendance of the crew
o Oversee construction site and supervise the use of machinery and equipment
o Delegate responsibilities and tasks to crew members and contractors
o Emphasize safe use of tools and equipment and enforce the use of safety gear
o Manage employees and work alongside of crew to ensure project stays on schedule.
Skills and Qualifications:
o Advanced knowledge of construction procedures and equipment
o Ability to read and understand drawings, blue prints and construction plans
o Excellent organizational and time-management skills
o Ability to problem solve and fix routine errors
o In depth knowledge of safety guidelines and best practices
o Strong managerial skills.
o Experience in a supervisory or related role
o Proven leadership skills
o Ability to drive projects to fruition on time and within budget
o Ability to train and supervise workers
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Have worked as a carpenter for multiple years and have understanding of best
Building practices and use of tools.
Salary:
$60,000 to $75,000 based on experience
VMD has a track record of developing and building $10-35 million adaptive reuse projects including the conversion of historic silk mills and schools into multi-family or mixed used communities in addition to new construction.
