The Company

Acceleron Fusion is developing a breakthrough new technology to produce clean energy, based on research funded by the US Department of Energy. We are based in Cambridge, MA. We are a small start-up, with about six employees, and are growing fast.

The Position

We are looking for an Operations Manager, to have overall responsibility for:

Human Resources

• Recruit excellent candidates for open positions
• Coordinate the interview and hiring process
• Help create the company culture
• Select and administer employee benefits

Finance

• Prepare financial statements and cash flow projections
• Accounts payable - pay bills and manage cash
• Accounts receivable - prepare invoices and collect payments
• Payroll and tax compliance
• Bookkeeping and reconciliation of accounts

Office / Facilities Management

• Identify vendors; negotiate contracts and service plans
• Stock office, lab, workshop, and kitchen supplies
• Set up desks for new employees
• Plan the layout of the office, lab, and workshops

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer skills; ability to learn to use new systems and software quickly
• Business and negotiation skills
• High level of discretion in handling confidential information
• Problem-solving ability - knows how to get things done
• Ability to motivate other people to care and do their best

Compensation and Benefits

The position has a competitive salary, health insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off. The position comes with a signing bonus and stock options. This is an in-person role, 40 hours/week, at our office in Cambridge, MA.
