The Regional Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple hotels within a designated region. This role focuses on driving operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement across all properties. The Regional Director works closely with General Managers, corporate leadership, and department heads to ensure the hotels align with the company’s mission, values, and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of hotels in the assigned region, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality guest experiences.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct regular property visits to monitor performance, compliance, and service standards.
Financial Management
- Analyze financial statements and reports to ensure each property meets revenue, expense, and profitability goals.
- Assist in the preparation and management of budgets for each property, identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue growth strategies.
- Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) such as RevPAR, ADR, GOP, and occupancy rates to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Guest Satisfaction
- Champion guest satisfaction initiatives and ensure all properties meet or exceed brand and service standards.
- Address guest feedback and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented at the property level.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to General Managers and property-level leadership teams.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, train, and retain top talent in the region.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all properties adhere to company policies, brand standards, and legal regulations, including health and safety requirements.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure operational compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Strategic Planning and Collaboration
- Partner with corporate leadership to align regional operations with the companys strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to optimize market performance and drive business growth.
- Lead and participate in regional and corporate meetings, sharing insights and best practices.
Crisis and Risk Management
- Lead regional efforts in crisis management, including emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Mitigate operational risks by identifying potential issues and implementing preventative measures.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of hotel management experience, including multi-property oversight.
- Proven track record of success in operational leadership roles within the hospitality industry.
