Essential Functions of the Physical Therapist Assistant Role:

  • Assist in evaluation of clients' daily living skills and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
  • Assist patients with all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques including exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, activities of daily living, and Isokinetic program.
  • Observe patients during treatments and report observations to the Physical Therapist.
  • Communicate with staff and other health team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.

Required for Physical Therapist Assistant Position:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program in Connecticut.
  • Unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant Licensure to practice required.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Strong communication skills.
