Job DescriptionAs a Maintenance Technician Skill I, the work you do to care for the home away from home will be felt by our guests and colleagues. You will be an ambassador for our brand by taking care of the little things and the big things: ensuring guests' requests are being handled to their expectations, completing projects, performing preventative maintenance and responding to repair requests in a timely manner. Hourly Rate: $38.86 What You Will Be Doing
Maintain and repair all equipment using the applicable skill sets: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, kitchen, HVAC, laundry, boiler, painting, locksmith and pools/ponds. Assist with repairs and maintenance as determined by the Supervisor or as needed thorough service work checklists, preventative maintenance, mechanic challenges, operation testing
Perform all preventative maintenance on equipment scheduled, i.e. service work, grinding, adjustments, etc. Inspect condition of equipment and for parts to be repaired or replaced
Participate in departmental trainings on equipment to the satisfaction of the Supervisor. Trainings will cover specific points in the daily operations of the department. Report status of equipment to the Supervisor through service sheets or verbal communications to ensure proper functions and safety. Supportive to hotel wide training programs including but not limited to: OSHA, Safety, Educational and Associate Enhancement programs to assure the continual upgrading of department personnel
Maintain accurate documentation of equipment maintenance and weather readings
Operate, maintain and repair boilers and associated equipment, including mixing, adding and analyzing boiler chemicals
Update records of repairs and tasks performed
Inspect and provide preventive maintenance for suites and/or villas
Inventory and requisition supplies and parts as needed
Perform maintenance requests as assigned
QualificationsYour experience and skills include:
Three years experience years hands-on experience working in various engineering skill sets required
Skill sets: Must be proficient in a minimum of 70% of the skill sets listed below, with minimal or no supervision at times. Reference to a “skill set” in this document is defined as one of the engineering skill sets such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, kitchen, HVAC, laundry, boiler, painting, locksmith, pools/ponds, and all guest room-related quick calls
Previous hotel or office building work experience is an asset
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally
Highly responsible & reliable
Education
High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training
High School diploma, vocational training and/or 1 year work experience is an asset. Appropriate technical schooling is an asset
Licenses Or Certificates
Must have and be able to maintain a valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset
Trade certification or license is preferred
