AccordCare & Family of Companies is Hiring a HR Specialist Near New York, NY

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist. This individual will be responsible for leading and executing key human resource initiatives for the company with a compliance focus. Collaboration, initiative, excellent writing skills, and attention to detail will be key to the success of this role. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated problem solver with an extreme focus on details, compliance with hiring standards, employment laws, customer support, and positive interactions throughout all levels of the practice. This position requires a high level of organization, including the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

This is a full-time permanent position offering a hybrid schedule with an office located in Brooklyn, NY.

Essential Functions:

Partner with Onboarding, Regional HR Representatives, and SVP of Compliance and provide support as UKG (HRIS) Administrator.

  • Monitors and maintains onboarding and post-hire compliance requirements; ensures competencies, licenses, certification, and all other compliance items are current and submitted before compliance deadline. Communicates effectively with management and employees to make sure that records are updated accurately and timely.
  • Facilitates Monthly Inactivity Report for Field Employees, processes terminations in UKG HRIS and respective EMRs/Registries.
  • Coordinates regulatory compliance efforts related to required clinical licensure and clinical certifications to ensure compliance including orientation tracking, name badge generation, and onboarding audit report.
  • Assists with compliance audits in a consistent and timely manner and reports findings to affected staff and appropriate managers.
  • Develops sound internal controls through UKG (HRIS) to monitor and maintain all clinical licensure and required certification to ensure they are correct, current, and readily available for state and regulatory surveys and audits. (i.e TB Screening, CPR Card, Licenses, Annual Evaluations)
  • Monitors Department of Labor Unemployment Claims in partnership with Regional HR Representatives and Payroll Team.
  • Enters and maintains HRIS system information, changes, approvals, etc., to ensure employee professional and personal information is current and up to date.
  • Generates, analyzes, and distributes data reports to management and external relationships on a daily/weekly/annual/ad-hoc basis.
  • Assigns disciplinary/performance improvement plans associated with expired licensure or required certifications.
  • Addresses employee HR policy inquiries, interpretations, and human resources procedures as it relates to Federal and State law.
  • Coordinates employee file document management system processes to enforce consistency and thoroughness of file requirements; maintains employee file to ensure Department of Health survey readiness.
  • Maintains consistent partnership with Branch Locations to ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Ensures AccordCare’s annual initiatives are communicated and tracked, annual flu season requirements, and compliance.
  • Participates and actively assists in meeting the HR team objectives.

Required Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • 1 year HRIS experience; Business Intelligence or HRIS querying/reporting experience preferred.
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience preferred; experience working with healthcare regulatory bodies preferred.
  • Computer related skills with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook products required.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Established strong organization and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Salary: $38,000 - $45,000
