ACCS is Hiring an Advocacy and Resource Center Student Specialist (Grant Funded) Near Muscle Shoals, AL

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assist the Manager of Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students Grant and Advocacy and Resources Center (ARC) in all aspects of project implementation.Assist with the development of ARC project services and activities designed to meet the basic needs of eligible NW-SCC students within the guidelines of the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students grant.Assist with promoting the mission and services of the ARC project .Assist with the identification, recruitment, and screening of prospective ARC participants. Establish positive relationships with grant participants and assist with the identification of barriers in the areas of: food insecurity, mental health, housing, transportation, childcare, and technology that are hindering college/career success.Coordinate with existing College programs (Career Services, NW-SCC Foundation, Child Development Center, TRIO Student Support Services, Youth Success, CCAMPIS program, and Adult Education) as well as state agencies, federal programs, and community-based agencies to organize wrap-around services and address basic needs insecurities for grant participants.While providing mentorship and coaching to program participants, utilize a case management approach reaching out regularly with phone calls, text messages, emails, and/or face-to-face meetings.Administer pre- and post-assessments measuring change of basic needs insecurity levels.Maintain accurate participant files to include: enrollment form, documentation of underserved population, detailed needs assessment, case management notes, services provided, success indicators, semesterly academic transcripts, etc.Maintain a spreadsheet of active participants to include identification of basic needs, assistance provided, referrals made, College enrollment status, and last date of ARC contact.Serve as the ARC Student Specialist on both the Muscle Shoals and Phil Campbell campuses.Assist with the collection of evaluation data for the basic needs for Postsecondary Students grant, including monthly progress reports, annual performance reports. and other records of performance.Assist with the creating and maintaining an updated resource guide detailing resources available to students in the College’s service area.Assist with maintaining extensive partnerships with local agencies with a shared goal of meeting the basic needs of students.Assist with coordination of contacts with and making referrals to local agencies that can assist students with basic needs.Assist with the operation of the ARC Food Pantry on both campuses. Serve as an advocate for adult learners transitioning from the Adult Education program into for-credit enrollment.Work closely with the adult education program, career technical faculty, academic faculty, student services and other College departments as needed to monitor participant progress.Assist with workshops and campus activities related to basic needs resources and campus/community partnerships.Maintain a flexible working schedule to service students attending both day and night classes.Facilitate Student Success class for adult learners.Advise students in the development of a career pathway and/or two-year degree plan.
