General Summary:

Our Gift Team is responsible for managing the Gift/Home Decor area of the store. This involves processing the items from start to finish and light merchandising. The Gift Team also ensures that their department is full, product is pulled from backstock, department floors, shelves, and fixtures are clean, and all products are labeled appropriately. Additionally, this role will ensure that this area provides the highest level of customer service and attention to the customer. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for accuracy and completeness in their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately processes and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards
  • Inspect incoming merchandise and document any damages
  • Price every item while considering freight charges and margins
  • Assist in ensuring that signage, product display and cleanliness are addressed and maintained at an acceptable standard
  • Maintain merchandise presentation, pricing and the accuracy of inventory levels
  • Enthusiastically encourage teamwork within the store and with all other departments
  • Promote customer service as the #1 priority

Requirements:

  • Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including nights and weekends
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (up to 50lbs)
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to use ladders, drills, box knives, and other miscellaneous tools (the ability and willingness to climb ladders is a MUST)
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn computer based concepts quickly
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors to accomplish tasks
