Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware today represents more than 68 years of fine service. The first Crowder Bros. Hardware store was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1955, opened by John and Chester Crowder. Crowder Bros. Hardware of Lakeland opened in March of 1973. The store was a joint partnership of John K. Crowder and Carroll C. Bud Phillips, Phillips being the active managing partner. Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware of North Lakeland was opened in November of 1996 by Bruce D. Phillips. Store Manager
Position Summary:
Store Managers are responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the store. They are responsible for maximizing store sales and profitability, along with managing expenses while ensuring that the store is optimally stocked and merchandised and that all customers are provided with excellent customer service. A store manager contributes to the growth and development of the management team and store associates.
Major Responsibilities:
Drive store sales by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer projects needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly
Hire, train, and develop retail staff with goals for growth and success in their positions, provide performance feedback, and recognize accomplishments
Coordinate the overall supervision of retail staff to ensure sales performance goals are met and procedures are followed accurately
Regulate retail inventory to reduce shrinkage, maintain appropriate stock levels, and ensure report accuracy
Direct the shipping, receiving and inventory flow for the store
Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules
Delegate daily workload among associates to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards
Enforce safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Customer Service:

Provide a positive representation of Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware.

Proactively assist customers in solving problems.

Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.

Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.

Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.

Handle any customer complaint.

Possess strong product knowledge, and knowledge of store layout and location of products.

Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of AMAZING EVERY CUSTOMER, EVERY TIME!
Store Operations:

Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.

Assist with receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.

Assist with maintaining backstock levels.

Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the salesfloor, stockroom and outdoor merchandise area.

Assist with providing a clean and orderly salesfloor, including endcaps and ad merchandise.

Assist with merchandise resets through the store.

Provide assistance to Department Supervisors, i.e. price changes, special orders.

Ensure signage is current throughout the store.

Operate forklift with proper training.

Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to Store Owner.

Lead and participate in store meetings.

Be professional in appearance and actions.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred.
Possess vast product knowledge of hardware related products, along with a willingness to learn
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years retail management experience
Skills/Knowledge:
Strong leadership and analytical skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for an extended period of time
Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
