About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Development to lead the market development team and drive the success of large fundraising events in the region. The role involves operationalizing the vision, managing staff, and implementing strategic priorities to ensure that market revenue goals are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging high-level executives as volunteers and corporate partners, as well as owning the overall fundraising strategy and budget for the region. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding financial goals, and a strong background in volunteer management. The VP, Development will also be tasked with building a network of successful volunteer partnerships and participating in community and corporate functions to facilitate new business contacts.Applicants for the Vice President, Development role at the company should have a University/College degree or equivalent experience, although a degree is preferred. A combination of 2 to 3 years of managerial experience leading fundraising staff and a consistent record of securing corporate donations and sponsorships are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends, and must be willing to travel locally up to 75% with reliable transportation. Strong skills in volunteer recruitment and management, as well as excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, are essential.
