We believe that our employees are the reason for our success, and we focus on their development and advancement opportunities as well as attracting top talent to our organization Job DescriptionSummary The CDL Truck Driver you will perform tasks involving Driving equipment, maintain D.O.T. logs, pick up materials, dispose materials, physical labor on parking lots. Laborers will carry out maintenance work by removing existing deteriorated asphalt, removing vegetation, dirt, sediment and debris, perform catch basin repairs, bollard installation as well as any maintenance project assigned by the foreman or team lead. The Truck Driver will inspect and maintain all equipment and supplies including tires, lights, brakes, gas and oil and completes minor repairs to equipment at the direction of the Foreman or Operations Manager and/or the Team Lead. Responsibilities
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines
Checks fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation
Attaches and removes pup trailers, belly dump & side dump trailers, transfer trailers and tilt/transport trailers to truck as needed
Keeps accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for billing.
Load and unload equipment or materials
Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle
Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs
Unrolls truck tarp to cover loads when required
Assure product quality to the best of the Driver's ability.
Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor
Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager
Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions
Must keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition
Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred
1-2 years of related asphalt and construction experience and/or training preferred
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), class A required
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Must maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements
Strong time management/organizational skills
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction
Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Physical Requirements
Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to work in all weather conditions.
The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.
