POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Sales role works in coordination with mechanical, sheet metal, and design-build contractors, as well as consulting engineers, on a project-by-project basis to engineer and specify commercial HVAC equipment solutions. Working directly with ACI’s leadership, sales, and estimating staff members, the Engineering Sales position utilizes valuable skills from commercial construction knowledge and HVAC product and system knowledge to provide equipment solutions. The Engineering Salesperson listens to customer needs and matches them with manufacturers’ equipment while providing top-tier service. A successful candidate will have a high sense of urgency, be fun, and be credible both internally and externally. The product portfolio of ACI Mechanical and HVAC Sales, a manufacturers' rep, is broad and requires someone with an inherent curiosity for how things work and the desire to solve problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review engineering plans and specifications for specifying commercial HVAC equipment solutions specific to ACI’s broad range of equipment represented
• Use manufacturer’s software selection tools to help specify projects and equipment solutions
• Collaborate closely with design-build contractors, MEP consulting engineers, and related professionals to build relationships and provide equipment solutions.
• Conduct lunch-and-learn training sessions with key customers, either independently, with other ACI team members, or alongside manufacturer personnel.
• Identify opportunities to enhance customer proposals from both estimating and sales perspectives.
• Follow up on projects and assist with quotes and sales proposals for key accounts.
• Conduct job walks to assist customers with project and product solutions as needed
• Support sales team members in securing orders by ensuring specifications are upheld with consulting engineers.
• Attend factory training seminars at various manufacturer location around the USA and Canada
• Engage socially and entertain customers in the Greater Seattle area alongside other ACI team members.

Requirements and Competencies

• Previous sales or engineering experience with a manufacturer’s rep firm/distributor, manufacturing company or commercial HVAC contractor
• Ability to travel to factories
• Successful use of a CRM tool
• Must reside in the Greater Seattle, WA area to perform this job
• Ability to successfully pass a background check
