SummaryThe person selected for this position must be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, especially in the field of early childhood education or development, and be able to meet the requirements of the licensing agency. This person must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults.
DutiesResponsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Nice To HavesPreference will be given to the candidate with formal training in early childhood development and experience in a child care setting. DHS required continuing education hours are compulsory for this job.
BenefitsFull time ( w/ 30 min. lunch break) with benefits including sick, vacation, paid continuing education hours and holiday pay, insurance and pension.
DutiesResponsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Planning, supervising, and implementing the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school.
- Gearing the program to the needs of individual children with concerns for their interests, handicaps, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning.
- Considering individual children in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Treating children with dignity and respect.
- Helping children to become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
