Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work hybrid with our client. This AWS Cloud Developer position will involve being part of agile scrum teams, contributing to the design and development of solutions following established standards within targeted sprints. This full-time position is located in Portland, OR.

Remote work is only available for candidates residing in the following states: OR, WA, AZ, CA, MT, ID, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in agile scrum teams.
• Design and develop solutions according to established standards in targeted sprints.
• Collaborate closely with team members including developers, business analysts, and testers both onsite (4-5) and offshore (around 15).
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Complete the design, development, peer review, and unit testing of solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet quality standards and project requirements.
• Work on initiatives and deliverables as defined by the team and project goals.
• Use tools and technologies specific to the team’s needs, including Python, AWS services, NoSQL databases, and SQL databases.
• Be a “go-getter” who can quickly ramp up and start delivering outcomes.
• Demonstrate initiative and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
• Address and solve technical issues promptly.
• Provide support to ensure smooth project execution.
• Communicate effectively with team members and the hiring manager.
• Document technical requirements, design, and development processes.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices relevant to the team’s projects.
• Apply new knowledge to improve solutions and processes.
• Quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes.
• Handle the challenge of ramping up quickly in a dynamic project environment.
• Ensure all developed solutions are tested thoroughly.
• Participate in peer reviews to maintain code quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• AWS cloud certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in relevant roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party APIs.
• Solid understanding of AWS serverless cloud architecture.
• Proficiency in services and deployment best practices including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, IAM, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with ReactJS and AWS Amplify.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing data within Snowflake or other relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
