ACS Professional Staffing is Hiring a System Administrator (7903) Near Spokane, WA

Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This System Administrator position will provide specialized technical support for real-time operation and application services related to the transmission system, ensuring high availability of critical PI data. This role involves interpreting design specifications, coding, and maintaining software, as well as developing and supporting OSI Soft PI Vision displays, Asset Framework implementations, and PI Datalink reports. Additionally, the administrator will manage both SCADA and Synchrophasor PI systems to ensure data quality and system reliability, while also developing training materials and troubleshooting system issues. This full-time position is located in Spokane, WA.

Pay Rate: $31.89 - $45.56

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and support the following functions:
  • Interpret design specifications
  • Assist with technical design
  • Code software and following test and deployment procedures, comply with project documentation requirements
  • Work on a development team using various development methodologies
  • With oversight and approval from the Manager/ Technical Lead:
  • Code, test, configure, migrate, maintain and document various vendor and in-house applications to provide solutions that support business requirements
  • Design and develop displays in OSI Soft PI Vision (Data Visualization)
  • Convert displays from OSI Soft Processbook to OSI Soft PI Vision
  • Design and develop OSI Soft Asset Framework implementations in support of grid operations and customer requirements
  • Design, document, and communicate effective technical solutions meeting end-user requirements
  • Analyze, test, and apply changes to the application environment under the prevailing change management procedures and requirements
  • Design, develop and support OSI Soft PI Datalink reports.
  • Support Administration of both SCADA and Synchrophasor PI system to provide maximum system reliability for data quality and data access.
  • Evaluate and implement updates for all PI system software.
  • Develop and present training material for PI system users.
  • Monitor system inputs for data quality and coordinate with PSC and SPC craftsmen to troubleshoot system problems
  • Create custom reports from PI to be utilized by Transmission Operations, the TE labs and other field locations.

Requirements:

  • A degree in computer science, information technology, or a directly related technical discipline is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience is required with a degree in applicable fields.
  • 5 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
  • Experience must include direct work experience in Information Technology performing System Administration.
  • 3 years of experience and proficient skill in applying the following:
  • Data mining
  • Data Visualization
  • C# development
  • Knowledge of and proficient skill in applying the following:
  • Advanced OSI Soft PI Administration
  • OSI Soft PI high availability support/configuration
  • The OSI Soft PI Software Development Kit (SDK)
  • The OSI Soft PI AF (Asset Framework)
  • OSI Soft PI Vision (Displays)
  • The OSI Soft PI Data Link add-in
  • C# development in the PI/.NET environment
  • Utility/industry experience working with SCADA systems
  • Ability to resolve issues and address questions about OSI Soft PI client tool installations.
  • Experience collaborating with software developers, testers and users throughout the System Development Life Cycle.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
