Contract to hire opening for a Buyer role! For the first 1-2 years they will be doing buying (this will take up 75% of the time and the remaining 25% of the time will be for manufacturing administrative tasks).

Long term goal for this role is to move up for more challenging work and hire someone under for support.

Description:

• Source, purchase and help receive components.

• Develop and improve current vendor relationships for new and existing products to lower costs and improve delivery performance.

• Monitor and report on delivery progress of components on a project-by-project basis insuring no late orders.

• Assist receiving personnel in setting up and controlling inventory stocking locations and levels. Perform continuous stocking level reviews to minimize excess.

• Communicate both verbally and electronically (e-mail) with vendors for ordering, follow-up and expediting components required for project orders.

• Performing the tasks of order filling and assembly when necessary.

• Actively participating in department specific production and “Twenty Keys” programs.

• 1 years Experience in purchasing and vendor management role (key is if they have experience doing vendor management and follow up during that time)

• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

• Experience working in a manufacturing group environment

• Must be willing to grow and learn new duties within the Mfg. Center.- know what a valve is

-ability and want to follow up and work with vendors

-ability to function at a meeting- they are twice a week and will report at where project stands and where the parts are at that are ordered.

-must be a self starter and able to follow directions

-Personal computer abilities with an MRP/ERP purchasing systems

- Must be able to work in a project based environment where they are ordering materials for projects that are about 10-13 week cycles. Should have experience following the materials through to receiving to make sure they are shipped on time for the delivery of the project. Must be industrial type of industry experience.
