Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Calibration Engineer to join our team. The key responsibilities include tracking and reporting on testing progress and issues, developing and executing first-time capable tests for calibration and hardware development, and leading the diagnosis and resolution of issues that occur during setup and testing. You will be expected to actively participate in Product Development Teams and work with Technical Experts to improve current tests and develop new ones. This may involve comprehending related ECU algorithms and associated calibration processes. You will also apply and create post-processing tools to assure data quality and track the usefulness of data in the generation of final calibration or reports. In addition, you will interact with facilities, TRBs, calibration teams, and others to improve process and test efficiency, and support math-based activities, migrating additional work from Road and Lab to Math-based models and data analysis. Training, mentoring, and developing new engineers are also part of your responsibilities. As a System Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for running an engine in a variety of different test cells to test the engines. There are about 20 different tests, referred to as 'standard work', that you would run for a particular engine.

Hard Skills

  • At least 2 years’ experience with engine controls and calibration
  • Familiarity with working in a lab environment (e.g. safety, instrumentation, troubleshooting)
  • Familiarity with data post processing (e.g. data review, identify good vs. bad data, presenting results effectively)

Work Environment

During the initial training period (first 4 months), all positions will operate on 1st shift, M-F, 8am-4:30pm. Post training period, one position will shift to a mid-day schedule, M-F, 10:30am-7pm; two positions will shift to 2nd shift, M-F, 3pm-11:30pm. All positions are required to be onsite 5 days a week, with no hybrid option. Occasionally, positions may be required to support remotely on weekends. The work will be conducted in a Laboratory Testing Facility, and PPE requirements must be met to access areas of the facility.
