Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and optimizing Oracle and Postgres databases, as well as extensive experience with AWS managed databases including RDS, Aurora, and Redshift. This role requires a deep understanding of database failover and recovery, backups, migration of on-premises databases to AWS, and proficiency with AWS CloudWatch. The successful candidate will be passionate about ensuring database performance, availability, and security, and experienced in handling data warehouses.

Hard Skills

• Database Expertise in Oracle and Postgres databases
• Extensive experience with AWS database services including Aurora, RDS, and Redshift
• Proficient in SQL, database design, and data modeling
• Familiarity with AWS CLI, SDKs, and CloudWatch
• Experience with data warehouse design, implementation, and optimization, e.g., AWS Redshift

Soft Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle complex database issues
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Work Site

This is a remote/hybrid position requiring 1x days on-site in Ashburn, Virginia and some days remote depending on on call schedule.

Work Environment

This position allows teleworking with necessary on-site visits in Kingstowne, VA, and/or Ashburn, VA based on mission needs. The team utilizes an on-call schedule which may require travel to the datacenter site. All candidates must be local to the Northern Virginia area.
