Description:Actalent is seeking an entry-level design technician to join their team supporting Exelon/Pepco projects out of their Lanham, Maryland office. Candidates have ideally graduated from an Associates or Technical program (ideally), and will be trained up on job functions/responsibilities for a long-term role. This position is primarily field-based, with opportunity to learn and grow in the design-engineering space as well.-Responsibilities will include:o Weekly site visits to project locations, where you will be responsible for the preparation of field notes and drawingso Play a role in preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluation and requisitionso Prepare engineering calculations (pole loading, guying, transformer sizing, conductor loading, load studies, voltage studies)o Be a point of contact for landowners/their agents to negotiate agreement of ROW (Rights of Way) for proposed utility equipmento Design and prepare construction orders related to overhead (OH), underground (UG) facilities with electric distribution systemso Be an active participant of the team, with strong communication and the ability to work closely with others.
