MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, DALTON, GA

• Performs advanced engineering work and coordinates a variety of engineering duties
• The Manufacturing Engineer will have Process Technicians directly reporting to them
• Additionally, they are responsible for the planning & design of production machines, improving manufacturing methods, and developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, or tooling
• Supports new programs by developing new processes, designing secondary tooling or machinery, developing production controls to maintain cost effectiveness, and determining/acquiring returnable and expendable packaging
• Oversees the setup of new equipment and optimum operation, including teaching proper usage
• Designs and implements complex improvements to manufacturing process, tools, machines, or production design and establish procedures to ensure maximum manufacturing capability
• Develops, coordinates, and maintains secondary, value-added, and specific capital equipment specifications
• Oversees design, fabrication, or initial run-off of equipment recommending improvements in equipment, design or methods
• Provides detailed costs for purchase of new or revised equipment, including alternative options and comparisons to maintain optimum cost savings
• Develops and implements programs or processes to improve quality, productivity, safety, and cost within the manufacturing area
• Investigates and manages Engineering Changes to determine if the changes meet customer requirements, meet standards, are feasible, are justifiable, and are accurate
• Recommends or rejects changes based on all of the above
• Develops process for FMEAs and Flow charts for new and revised programs
• Investigates and resolves customer concerns or problems related to manufacture product, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Coordinates transfer of major programs between Techniplas divisions or between Plant and competitors
• Contributes high level of engineering experience in achieving company goals and objectives managing the completion of some large and small projects in manufacturing engineering

Qualifications

• Automotive, Plastic Injection Molding experience is required
• Experience: Five to eight years of related experience
• Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa
• Working Knowledge: Assignments require a combination of education and experience that develops technical capability to independently evaluate, select, and apply techniques and standards
• Demonstrated capability to effectively build in new manufacturing processes
• Ability to work independently
