The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing a wide range of administrative and clinical tasks to assist healthcare providers in the exam room and help manage the flow of patients through the clinic. Day-to-day tasks may include measuring vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing exam rooms, assisting with minor procedures, scheduling appointments, and processing laboratory samples. Must be a certified MA with 3 years back office experience in Orthopedics or pain management. Must be familiar with ICD-10 and CPT coding, scheduling procedures, obtaining authorizations for upcoming cases, heavy phone calls, must be able to communicate with hospitals and surgery centers. Will need to be familiar with the insurance authorization process. Obtain the patient's medical and medication history and document in EMR. Obtain and record a patient's vital signs. Prepare patient for examination or treatment. Assist the physician/physician's assistant in performing the examination or treatment. Ability to administer injections. Ability to accurately withdraw medication to be administered. Demonstrate the ability to use medical equipment for spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pump programmers. Function as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Participate in a comprehensive plan of care to meet the ongoing needs of the patient. Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and its relations to the practice of pain management. Perform administrative tasks such as typing, scheduling of appointments, and maintaining medical records. Check in front desk duties. Maintain professionalism and respect for patient privacy at all times. Punctual and consistent attendance. Possess excellent time management skills. Ability to critically think and make appropriate decisions. Maintain and clean rooms and equipment. Restock supplies and take inventory of supplies needed.
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
This is a fully on-site position in Orange, California.
