Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Job Description:
This job will be in Chester, VA and we are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team for a vital project, directly contracted with a large utility company for the closure of a 70 acre ash pond. The role involves performing safety inspections, audits, and reporting on site. You will be equipped with a laptop and an onsite vehicle for mobility throughout the facility. Reporting directly to the Director of Safety.
Responsibilities will include:

• Daily walk downs
• Craft labor safety inspections
• Site training
• Daily reporting
• Updating OSHA 300 log (recordables) updates
• Ensure that safe construction practices are being utilized .

Must Haves:

• 5 years of heavy industrial construction safety experience
• CHST, CSP, OSHA 500, or Bachelors in Environmental Health & Safety

Duration:
6 month Contract- likely will go into the start of the new year

This is a fully on-site position in Chester, VA
Work Environment
The position is based in Chester, VA, at a power plant for an ash pond closure project. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring hard hat, boots, glasses, gloves, and protective gear/vest. The work schedule starts with 5/6-10's and will increase as needed.
