Actalent is Hiring a Sr. Scientist Near Minneapolis, MN

Description:

Seeking a Sr. Scientist who has interest working within research & development within medical device! This Scientist will help assist in the development, validation, and transfer of new tissue processing and cell sample preparation methods and/or cell pathway and signaling assays for cancer cells from various tissues.

Responsibilities:

Culture and prepare consistent batches of human cells for assays

Participate in clinical studies, study set up and generation of results

Perform assays to identify and sort cell types by biomarkers

Perform genotypic and pathway characterizations for human cells

Collaborate with science Directors to develop new assays or troubleshoot existing assays

Management and organization of laboratory resources, instruments, procedures/protocols.

Provide documentation control support, including cell assay R&D results records, specimen and results database, and procedures.

Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results

Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens

Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed

Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications

Skills:

Cell culture, report writing, Assay, research & development, Flow Cytometry, Oncology, Immunology, Writing reports

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Advanced Degree preferred in Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology,

Oncology, or Translational or Systems Medicine, with experience in research laboratory in molecular cell biology, human cell culture and microplate-based live cell assay development

Ph.D. with minimum of 5 years post-doctoral experience developing activity-based live cell assays for small molecules, OR

Masters Degree with a minimum of 18 years of industry experience developing activity based live cell assays for small molecules, OR bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 20 years of industry experience developing activity-based live cell assays for small molecules, AND Experience in a medical laboratory or biotechnology setting consistent with the job duties and responsibilities

Prefer experience with development of cell cytometry (5-channel) and immunochemistry assays for human cells, human primary cell work and Luminex experience highly preferred
