ACTIA Corporation has been manufacturing quality vehicle electronics and diagnostic equipment for growing markets such as Off-Highway, Bus & Coach, Truck & Fleet, Marine and Specialty Vehicles for over 30 years. ACTIA Group is an international group based in Toulouse, France.
We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Elkhart, IN. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer works as a cooperative member of the Engineering team to assist the department in producing a smooth, efficient flow of quality work through the Company. This is a top level electrical engineering position. Will receive direction and work assignments from other members of the Engineering department, in coordination with the immediate supervisor. Extensive electrical knowledge is expected with formal training or verifiable experience required.

Job Specific Competencies
  • Electrical Design
    • Detailed electrical design engineering of products
    • Responsible for all electrical portions of projects
    • Investigates new technologies and processes to create competitive products
    • Researches engineering processes and methods to improve engineering efficiency
  • Project Management
    • Supports feasibility processes (estimates time required to complete and dates for deliverables)
  • Quality
    • Responsible that all electrical engineering activities are completed in accordance with quality processes
  • Collaboration
    • Assists in product definitions
    • Provides technical assistance to customers applying and servicing ACTIA products
    • Ability to offer training assistance to electrical engineers
  • Documentation
    • Produces documentation as required per ISO 9001:2015 and APQP quality process
    • Maintains time records and project reports

    • Ensure legal compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements
    • Ensure ISO procedures are followed
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications And Education
  • Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering or demonstrable equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in digital electronic design, primarily to automotive standards
  • Considerable experience in design for EMI/EMC to automotive standards
  • Considerable experience in databus messaging structure and its application
  • Considerable experience in small signal analog electronic design
  • Considerable experience in the electronic production process and methodology
  • Experience in software design principles and acceptable practices
Working ConditionsMovement
  • This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and on the production floor. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
Visual
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Operate/Use
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e. copier, printer, calculator)
Ascend/Descend
  • Rarely ascends/descends stairs to reach archived files
Communicate
  • This position frequently communicates with co-workers, managers and supervisors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Transport
  • This position frequently lifts or moves 25 pounds, occasionally moves up to 50 pounds for various needs.
Work Environment
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Travel
  • Occasional travel to customers and vendors, with overnight stays, may be required.
