Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall management, oversight and coordination of all Housing and Homelessness programs. 
  • Oversee and provide leadership for all staff, and direct supervision for coordinators, manager and supervisors.
  • Responsible for and organize, recruitment, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and personnel problem resolution for the department.
  • Develop, manage and monitor Department budgets.
  • Oversee donor acquisition, stewardship, development and appreciation; special events; foundation grants; direct mail appeals and other development activities.
  • Secure, maintain and renew government grants. 
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with the funding sources and potential funding sources related to the activities and functions supervised by the position.
  • Represent the organization at speaking engagements, neighborhood and community meetings, public hearings, and other public forums.
  • Participate in strategic planning and risk management for the agency as well as the Housing Department.
  • Establish/maintain sound relationships with property managers, real estate community to develop housing and placement resources on behalf of program.
  • Initiate new program ventures to enhance department scope and provide comprehensive services to target population.
  • Participate in Department Head meetings and other agency-wide events; acts as an integral part of the Agency’s management team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Service Management or related field and five to ten years of experience in Human Services Management; and supervisory experience required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of housing and homelessness issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government policies and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with public and private agencies in pursuit of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
