What's the job all about?Active Motif's Manufacturing Department is looking for a Manufacturing Research Associate II (RAII). The successful individual will join a highly motivated team-focused bio-manufacturing group and will participate in the manufacturing and production of research-use only products by following SOPs and maintaining accurate records to achieve high-quality.
Responsibilities
- Manufactures and tests a variety of biological products such as buffers, plasmid DNA, primer stocks, cell lysates and antibodies
- Performs SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, and ELISA for testing of cell lysates and antibody products
- Performs production tasks such as filling of product and labeling of tubes
- Performs basic maintenance of mammalian and hybridoma cell lines to support cell-based products
- Performs work following work instructions (WIs), Batch Record process and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintains proper documentation; follows Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Responsible for accurate labor time accounting and proper accounting of material usage
- Performs all activities in accordance with our Quality Management System
- Responsible for participating in general lab organization and maintenance
- Understands the function and correctly utilizes equipment
- Follows all safety requirements
- Performs all work with a high accuracy of execution
- Executes all work in a time dependent manner and quality dependent manner
- Communicates and presents work within department to team members
- Contributes ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement
- Performs under some supervision
- Required to work full-time on site
- Other duties as required and/or assigned
- Bachelors in Biological Sciences (in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related fields) or Biomanufacturing
- 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience within a QMS or ISO/GMP a plus
- Hands-on experience and competency in basic mammalian cell culture
- Ability to understand and perform standard math calculations such as dilution, percentage, concentration as well as cell doubling time, cell concentration & seeding density
- Knowledge of cell and molecular biology and experience with techniques such as PCR, plasmid preparations, SDS-PAGE, Western Blots, Lysate preparation, ELISAs and affinity chromatography
- Perform quality work within deadlines

- Salary Range: $66,500*
- The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The salary range represents Active Motif's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of the posting. Certain positions may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission, bonus, and stock options. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
