Job Title: Dialysis Patient Care Technician

Immediate Supervisor: LVN, RN, Dialysis Coordinator

Employees Supervised: None

Job Scope: Provides dialysis therapy per physicians orders and RN/LVN oversight to adult patients (age 18 and over) who have had an acute event as a result of an illness, injury or exacerbation of a disease process. Specific procedures provided include hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

The dialysis patient care technician will utilize documentation, communication, dialysis skills, and collaboration with physicians and other team members to meet performance requirements.

Education/Experience: Current CPR certification. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current principles and practices clinically specific to hemodialysis. Minimum 1 year recent hemodialysis experience.
