Position Description:

  • Have in-depth understanding of and familiarity with WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control functions referencing Web Content, Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 as it pertains to programming style/formatting, loading performance, and browser compliance testing for the content of PX English and Spanish platforms.
  • Review accessibility for blogs, videos, search, and new features as mandated by the government.
  • Investigate emerging technology and best web practices and submit them to the government POC for review.
  • Edit and update technical style manual and provide to the government POC for approval.
  • Collect and analyze accessibility site metrics to assist the government in determining top tasks for Customer English and Spanish platforms and analyze design comprehensive layouts against these top tasks in order to recommend improvements.
  • Provide the government with recommendations for possible long-term improvements to Customers English and Spanish platforms' design in relation to web best practices, accessibility, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  • Assist Customer in providing web development training based on a government-approved training plan. The training will be offered to government personnel and other contracted employees.
  • Ensure that all Customers English and Spanish platform channels are Section 508 compliant; review for Section 508 compliance using tools acceptable to the government as changes in content and new features are added.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Collaborate with Customers web developers and designers on WCAG compliant designs.
  • Support the Customers management on Web Content and Strategy in implementing larger-scale web projects such as site redesigns, accessibility enhancements, or creating new storytelling/blogging features.
  • Work with Customer to resolve technical issues that require additional support from Customers developers.
  • Keen attention to detail, with particular emphasis on accuracy, follow-up, and follow-through.
  • It is necessary to have knowledge of digital assistive technology (JAWs, NVDA, Voiceover, Talkback, etc.) and how to make digital properties accessible.
  • At the government's discretion, review and/or provide accessibility guidance to other Customer groups and/or websites and applications.
  • Participate in resolving ongoing issues with Section 508/WCAG 2.0 compliance related to system development. Participate in project meetings, code reviews, research on sample solutions, best practices, briefings from Subject Matter Experts, assistance in developing Quality Assurance procedures, requirements analysis, and documentation review.
  • Conduct evaluations of the documents utilized by the PX portfolio team should be conducted to assess the general conformity to Section 508/WCAG 2.0 requirements, identify any substantial gaps in accessibility, and provide points of contact for making the necessary corrections. These reviews, which may call for the use of assistive technology but not specialized assistive technology testing, must be carried out by individuals who thoroughly understand accessibility standards and the functional needs of people with disabilities. The format and organization of the documentation will follow Customer guidance. (Currently, two hours or less during business hours; complicated documents may be an exception.)

In support of theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, and others like it across the country, Ad Hoc job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
