Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned and managed radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 214 radiologists, 44 advanced practice providers, and more than 200 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion. We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan.
What we are looking for: We are hiring a full time Medical Administrative Assistant in our Interventional Radiology outpatient office. The Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for nursing and physician support duties, answering phone calls, outpatient IR scheduling and patient coordination.
Responsibilities:
  • Answering telephone calls and providing information to callers, transferring calls to nurses when applicable.
  • Scheduling and coordinating Outpatient IR Clinic appointments prior to and following procedures, laboratory and imaging appointments.
  • Room clinic patients, take vitals, review medical and family history and home medication list and flag changes for nurse.
  • Administer TB testing shots to physicians when needed.
  • Support physicians with obtaining additional patient history, additional diagnosis and pathology results during dictation if needed.
  • Assist physicians with various assignments and requests for technical support, message dissemination to applicable person or department within the hospital, STARS or ARS.
  • Respond to questions and requests from ARS physicians, STARS personnel or outside parties by resolving problems requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational and corporate structures, protocols, policies, procedures and strategies.
  • Communicate with internal and external IT personnel as needed to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Provide information to billing and coding teams as needed.
  • Coordinate events such as in office celebrations, physician wellness meals, interview meals, educational events, and board/section meetings.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program is required.
  • Minimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience, more years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and EMR experience required. Prefer EPIC.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of people within the organization, and have a professional image and demeanor.
  • Must have excellent phone and customer service skills and demonstrate warmth, patience and compassion with patients.
