Adams Construction is Hiring an Equipment operator Near Roanoke, VA

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

Under general supervision of a road crew, performs a variety of manual or semiskilled tasks related to road building and maintenance of road building equipment and facilities.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITES :

  • Work productively and safely to meet production goals.
  • Inspect, clean and maintain equipment daily.
  • Report any malfunctions or equipment failures to Superintendent or Shop Manager.
  • Constantly be aware of hazards and other people or vehicles in surrounding area and work zone.
  • Willing and able to follow instructions.
  • Accurately and completely fill out the end of the week equipment report.
  • Assist with any cleaning, handwork or additional needs as necessary to get the job done.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
  • The ability to lift and carry heavy loads on a day to day basis;
  • The ability to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions paying attention to detail
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time. (10-12 hours)
