With 76% of our students economically disadvantaged and 20% facing disabilities, we don't just face challenges—we embrace them. We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative educator to join our team as a full-time 4-year-old Kindergarten Teacher. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a love of learning in our youngest learners. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of early childhood development and a compassionate approach to teaching that recognizes the diverse needs of our economically disadvantaged students. Responsibilities:

  • Teach foundational subjects including early literacy, numeracy, social studies, science, while incorporating the arts using developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment by establishing and maintaining positive behavior expectations.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students’ adult caregivers to foster a collaborative approach to each child's education.
  • Design and maintain colorful and interactive classroom displays and learning centers to stimulate young minds.
  • Implement school policies and classroom guidelines to ensure a safe and organized learning space.
  • Plan and balance a variety of instructional activities, play-based learning, and guided exploration to support holistic development.
  • Organize and facilitate enriching experiences such as class projects, field trips, and guest visits to extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Engage in professional development and performance evaluations to continually improve teaching practices.
  • Work closely with colleagues to share ideas and strategies for enhancing student learning.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and the community to promote a culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Assess student learning through play-based and observational assessments, providing timely and supportive feedback.
  • Collaborate and coordinate the efforts of classroom support staff and volunteers.
  • Assist with school-wide tasks, such as monitoring common areas and supporting school events.
  • Stay informed about early childhood education practices through professional development and educational resources.
  • Additional duties as deemed appropriate at the sole discretion of district leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching license to teach 4k
  • Strong instructional skills with the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with Policy 3122 throughout his/her employment in the District.

Whe have dedicated Common Planning Time, Team Time as well as Wednesday Collaboration through early release to foster and grow in the implementation of PLCs.
