Position Overview:
As a Night Crew Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overnight operations of the grocery department within the retail setting of a grocery store. You will be responsible for ensuring quality and freshness of both perishable and non-perishable products within grocery, dairy, and frozen foods while providing excellent customer service. You will be driving labor efficiency, sales and gross profit margins in alignment with the store.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the product and services offered by the company
• Maintain a clean, happy, full, fresh and safe department
• Maintain sales floor, preparation, equipment and storage areas that are clean, orderly and meeting company and health department standards at all times
• Train and supervise department staff ensuring adherence to established procedures and customer service standards
• Conducting regular safety training for grocery department staff
• Schedule and coordinate shifts to have proper coverage
• Provide ongoing feedback, performance evaluations and training opportunities for department employees
• Monitor inventory levels, ordering products such as but not limited to various products to maintain a diverse and stocked selection
• Ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards
• Ensure that all products are rotated properly according to company standards
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns and special requests in a prompt and professional manner
• Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the grocery, dairy, and frozen food work areas
• Communicate with daytime grocery manager and store management regarding inventory, sales and any issues within the department
• Implement and execute best practices to minimize profit losses and maximize overall store profit
• Coach teammates in need of performance improvement within the grocery department
• Recommend and assist with growth development of consistent high performing teammates
• Perform temperature checks of all coolers and refrigerated cases in accordance to company policy throughout the shifts
• Perform security checks of all doors and alarms in accordance to company policy throughout the shifts
• Adhere to all company safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Environment:

• Retail store- generally between 68-76°F

Schedule:

• Salary 45 hours per week- Overnight 10pm to 8am

Experience:

• Preferred: One (1) year grocery management or grocery sales experience
• ServeSafe certification or comparable

Skills:

• Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
