Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Graduate Recruitment and Student Success plays a pivotal role in the Office of Graduate Studies serving as a dynamic force in attracting, retaining, and engaging graduate students. This position is responsible for implementing a comprehensive strategy that encompasses lead generation, applicant retention, enrolled student retention, and graduate student engagement efforts. Under direction of the Assistant Vice President for Graduate Studies the coordinator will work closely with prospective and current graduate students, faculty, and staff, to enhance the overall graduate student experience and foster long-term professional success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Lead Generation:
  • Conduct in-person and virtual recruitment activities across key markets in-state and out-of-state to attract prospective graduate applicants
  • Help develop and execute digital advertising and outreach campaigns tailored to specific graduate programs.
Graduate Applicant Retention:
  • Communicate persistently with prospective applicants via phone, email, and text messages to address missing documents and facilitate a smooth application process.
Graduate Student Retention:
  • Implement retention strategies such as reminder calls, emails, and text messages for enrollment, Blackboard usage, and financial matters.
  • Proactively reach out to students at risk of withdrawing and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with an emphasis on at-risk populations and first-semester students.
Graduate Student Engagement:
  • Create and manage a calendar of career development and professional development opportunities.
  • Organize on-campus, hybrid, and off-site events (e.g. Adams on Tour) specifically designed for graduate students
  • Serve as an online facilitator during hybrid on-campus and on-line programming.
  • Advocate for online students to ensure access to on-campus programming.
  • Promote relevant campus activities to online students to encourage their participation.
Research Administration:
  • Helps facilitate timely review of the Institutional Research Board (IRB) proposals
  • Serves as the primary contact for all IRB submissions
  • Conduct initial checks on received IRB proposals
  • Manages records of the IRB
  • Communicates with IRB applicants regarding outstanding requirements and status of the IRB reviews
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone and email
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Previous experience in graduate student recruitment, retention, or student affairs
  • Friendly demeanor
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and outreach techniques.
  • Familiarity with a CRM system is a plus
  • Familiarity with data analysis is a plus
  • Graphic design and/or video production skills are a plus
Salary and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45,252-$48,060 commensurate with experience and education.
