Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is coordinating all tutoring services for Undergraduate on campus students, as well as assisting online students with NetTutor. Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities) ● Coordination of all campus tutoring efforts ● Promotion of tutoring options to students ● Exploration and development of new technologies to support tutoring and student learning ● Assessment and evaluation of tutoring strategies and services ● Management of campus tutoring venues including current STEM Center and other campus locations checking out technology maintaining supplies providing welcoming environment for all ASU students scheduling of tutoring rooms ● Supervise work study students and peer tutors for courses across campus ● Data tracking for services provided, including students being supported and courses they are seeking tutoring for. ● Collaborate with departments in regards to SI implementation ● Hiring, training and supervising peer tutors, SI leaders, student employees, graduate assistant, peer note takers and test readers ● Coordinates training opportunities with other peer tutoring programs on campus ● Manages scheduling of students with peer tutors and student employee work schedules ● Lead training on software administration, including the expansion and training to other tutoring centers and labs on campus ● Meeting individually with students and tutors on an as needed basis ● Update tutoring website as necessary ● Assisting with Academic SOS program ● Management of outreach activities: Scheduling STEM outreach activities Scheduling visits to the Zacheis Planetarium and Ryan Museum Running shows at the planetarium in the absence of student workers Serving as a point of contact for academic departments and local school districts to schedule and coordinate outreach activities Collaborate with campus-wide grant coordinators on related initiatives Qualifications: Required: ● Bachelor’s degree required ● Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) ● Demonstrated excellent organizational skills ● Ability to take initiative and be proactive in collaborating with campus and external partners ● Ability and interest in working with diverse student populations ● Strong desire to work with students Preferred: ● Bilingual, English/Spanish speaking ● Experience with managing and training peer tutor Salary: The expected salary is $38,575 to $43,883 commensurate with education and experience.
