Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Schedule: Onsite
Opportunity: Contract to hire
Pay: starting at $35/hr.
Location: Irvine, CA
REQUIREMENTS:
- Years of experience: 3 years of experience as a paralegal in Litigation (business litigation preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic legal research.
- Personality: Someone who is proactive and thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Background in mid-large size law firms.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Electronic Discovery:
- Manage document reviews and productions, including loading, coding, bates numbering, and logging in Relativity database.
Legal Proceedings Support:
- Attend and handle logistics for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Assist in preparing witnesses, experts, and managing exhibits and technology needs.
Documentation and Filing:
- File and serve motions, briefs, exhibits, and other documents in state and federal courts.
- Set up, organize, and maintain case files and internal databases.
Research and Preparation:
- Conduct basic legal and internet research.
- Organize discovery, research, and pleadings for attorney review.
- Prepare notebooks for hearings and trials.
- Bluebook and cite-checking.
Subpoenas and Coordination:
- Prepare and coordinate service of subpoenas.
- Interact with IT personnel and vendors regarding document and discovery issues.
Case Management:
- Calendar and track case deadlines.
