Position Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a critical part of our team to develop, execute and maintain a cohesive purchasing strategy and approach that leverages global scale and diverse product offering. The role will be a key position in the supply chain and procurement leadership team, working closely with sourcing, pricing, and engineering teams and responsible for commercial, operational, and strategic aspects of developing strong supplier relationships. The sourcing manager’s role will be leading teams of 3 to 5 buyers and planners to manage the sourcing, demand planning, forecasting, inventory management and buying operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust sourcing and procurement strategy for the company.
• Hold key supplier relationship and lead selected negotiations to execute cost reduction strategies.
• Supervision of Procurement & Planning process including Quality, cost, and delivery primarily from North America, Asia, and other Global Suppliers
• Responsible for managing supply levels based on demand planning and forecasting tools, sales trends, global disruptions, and supplier lead time while delivering best in class customer experience.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers and vendors are consistent with corporate objectives of quality, on time delivery, cost reduction and inventory turn.
• Monitor the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters and services consistent with ERP requirements or as assigned.
• Coordinates and supervises as appropriate all quality matters and engineering processes within the organization and with the suppliers.
• Manages all active supplier agreements and supports execution of customer contracts.
• Visits prospective supplier plants and distribution sources to evaluate their capabilities when needed.
• Lead the identification of new technology and products to support the organization product roadmap with sustainability goals.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven track record in managing mid-size supply chain organization with knowledge of sourcing, procurement, and logistics processes.
• Strong data analytic & systems skills including proficiency with integrated software applications (Net Suite preferred)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are important for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong in critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Finance, Operations or Supply chain
• Total 10 years of experience and 5 years of supervisory level experience in Sourcing Procurement or planning functions.
