Main Responsibilities of a Loans Collections Specialist

• Coordinate and manage the collection of delinquent loan accounts with staff and external legal counsel.
• Secure properties and assist in the disposition of OREO (Other Real Estate Owned) properties, including collaboration with realtors.
• Ensure OREO properties are insured and address any maintenance issues. If leased, ensure tenant compliance with the lease and property upkeep.
• Monitor classified loans and complete RAAP & NRV documentation for Credit Strategies and Asset Quality Meetings.
• Inspect OREO and classified properties and provide detailed reports.
• Serve as Recording Secretary for the Director and Management Loan Committee meetings.
• Assist BSA staff and inspect and report on MSB (Money Services Business) customers.
• Provide support for NMLS issues as requested, acting as a SAFE ACT officer.
• Assist with off-site audits of cash suppliers/couriers.
• Conduct property inspections to verify the validity/completion of insurance claim work.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have experience in collections-based role.
• Must have 5 to 7 years of experience in both commercial and residential loan settings.
• Extensive knowledge of handling non-performing and delinquent loans is essential.
• Strong communication skills are necessary to convey critical loan and property information to customers, colleagues, and relevant vendors (e.g., attorneys).
• Capable of making decisions related to the payment of delinquent real estate taxes and assessments, as well as setting up repayment arrangements.
• Provide support, as needed, for monitoring all classified loans.
