DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:As an Injection Molding Process Engineer, you will drive part and tool design, develop production processes, and implement continuous improvement through scientific injection molding principles. Injection molding tool design, analysis, press operation, and production analytical abilities will be crucial to powering the pursuit of quality and efficiency.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status.
Essential Job Functions
  • Participate in the design and development of new, and revision or repair of existing tooling.
  • Review customer components and provide Design for Molding (DFM) guidance.
  • Develop innovative molding solutions to challenging customer requirements.
  • Complete moldflow analysis using Solidworks to ensure components can successfully be molded while meeting customer part design requirements.
  • Prepare mold qualification documentation such as IQ, OQ, PQ.
  • Set-up, sample, and establish optimum molding parameters on new, revised, or repaired tooling.
  • Re-evaluate molding processes and parameters on an on-going basis.
  • Prepare molded samples for inspection or testing.
  • Perform mold tooling qualifications including compilation end item data packs.
  • Continuous training and educating of set-up, material, and production personnel on current injection molding best practices.
  • Assist with cycle reductions, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning production mold tooling.
  • Establish reliable and safe manufacturing systems for the molding department.
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Collect, record, and transcribe data in a clear concise manner.
  • Perform new color and raw material testing.
  • Participate in or lead RCCA process.
  • Utilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes and outcomes.
  • Responsible to maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.’s owned by your position.
  • Review of all procedures related to your job per “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
  • Completion within time stated of all training required by Job Description in “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
RequirementsSKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task.
  • Experience using Solidworks and/or other CAD systems.
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities to exceed customer expectations.
  • Works independently, strong work ethic, is self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of mold construction and components
  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or Plastics Engineering Technology with 3-5 years (desired) of processing experience in injection-molding. Or a combination of prior industry experience in Plastics Engineering with 5-10 years of processing experience in injection-molding.
  • Ability to operate injection molding equipment.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams to support the core business, ensuring quality products are delivered on time.
  • Computer aptitude (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Must be a team player and willing to complete professional development goals.
Work Environment
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
