Adelante Mujeres is Hiring a Farmer's Market Crew Member Near Hillsboro, OR

Adelante Mujeres is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Farmers Market Crew Member. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the operations of the Forest Grove and Cornelius Farmers Markets. As part of the Market Access team in the Microenterprise Department, the Crew Member will provide logistical and customer service support, ensuring the smooth functioning of market activities. The Crew Member reports to the Farmers Market Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Farmers Market Team in all daily operational processes of the Market including set up, take down, and customer service
  • Assist with execution of additional special events like Salsa Fest and Día de los Muertos
  • Support at the Information, Waste Center, and Kids Club booths
  • Assist with vendor and customer questions, comments, and/or concerns
  • Attend community outreach and tabling events to promote the farmers markets

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people, including excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to problem solve independently and work effectively in a team
  • Ability to work evenings in outdoor settings with exposure to typical Oregon weather conditions

Additional Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccine and boosters required except for religious or medical accommodation
  • Complete Criminal Background Registry enrollment letter for facility number CC503161
  • Possess or ability to obtain Oregon Food Handler's Permit (or acquired within 30 days from date of hire)
  • Access to reliable transportation

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Hourly Rate: $21.00 per hour
  • Classification: Seasonal, minimal part-time (up to 19.99 hours per week)
  • Schedule: Wednesdays 1pm - 9:30pm, Fridays 1pm - 9:30pm, and occasional Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays through November 2024
  • Benefits: Sick Time: 1 hour accrued per 30 hours worked, Paid Holidays: prorated based on hours worked current month.
