Sale Day Driver

WEDNESDAY ONLY - 4HRS

Job Summary:

Reporting to designated managers and supervisors, sale day drivers are tasked with driving vehicles across the auction block from their staging area on the lot, and then returning the vehicles to their point of origin.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:

1. Provide excellent customer service:

- Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention from all employees.

- Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer questions, complaints, or disputes.

2. Sale day driving and Safety:

- Drive vehicles across the block following all safety guidelines including but not limited to wearing a seatbelt, placing vehicle in park or neutral when coming to a stop and following the ADESA wedge.

- Safely move, stage, and park vehicles in the correct lot area.

- Advise supervisor or lane captain of all breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately

- Drivers will be trained and must know, practice and ensure that company safety policies and procedures are followed at-all-times.

- Always operate motor vehicles safely and practice conservative, cautious, and courteous driving habits

- Immediately report to manager or supervisor anything that occurs which may potentially jeopardize the ability to operate a motor vehicle physically or legally.

- Immediately report to manager or supervisor all driving related incidents to include traffic citations, warnings, accidents, or mechanical problems experienced on either private or public property whether on or off the job.

3. Other:

- Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.

- Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Manager.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to operate a vehicle with a standard transmission preferred
• Candidate must be able to read and/or comprehend motor vehicle traffic signs and be insured and/or insurable if required by the state.
• Must not have a motor vehicle record or criminal record that does not meet the minimum standards set by company policy.

• Constant balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, g rasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion
• Occasional – standing

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions.
