PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Actively seeking supplemental funding from outside sources and TEA grants, as well as, managing these grants will be a primary focus for this position. Additionally, this position will oversee and facilitate three areas of ESSA: campus improvement planning process (CIP) through collaborative work with BISD campus administration, work with the private-nonprofit (PNP) entities who participate with ESSA to ensure compliance and documentation is kept and submitted, and certify that BISD campuses maintain parent/family engagement documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s Degree in an appropriate field preferred
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification required
  • Principal certification -preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to research and apply for grants which would include the ability to create, manage budgets and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge and application of basic computational math skills
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply state and federal grant compliance requirements
  • Demonstrates knowledge of processes and how to create and/or maintain them
  • Possesses knowledge of the federal Campus Improvement Planning (CIP) Process and Parent/Family Engagement

(PFE) requirements

  • Demonstrates ability to support campuses in the CIP planning process and PFE program including training, 

facilitation, phone and digital support

  • Possesses strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and foster relationships with our PNP entities
  • Ability to gather and interpret data for decision-making related to supplemental grant(s) and ESSA grants.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate technology, software, equipment, and devices
  • Demonstrates ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy and follow-through with minimum

supervision

  • Ability to comprehend complex systems and technical information and explain effectively to others
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain the confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information

Experience:

  • Three years experience as a classroom teacher
  • Three years experience in an instructional leadership role preferred
  • Central office administrative experience preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Actively seek and apply for additional funding opportunities through TEA and outside entities
  • Manage additional funding grants awarded to Beaumont ISD
  • Maintain compliance documentation as needed for all grants under your supervision
  • Collaborate with district-level program leaders and campus administrators to support compliance with all awarded grant guidelines, including but not limited to areas of ESSA – CIP, PNP, PFE
  • Assist in planning for and reporting of Parent/Family Engagement (PFE) activities with the district-level parent liaison and with campus administration
  • Coordinate participation of private non-profit (PNP) entities with ESSA including consultation, budget planning, facilitation of expenditures, inventory management, and reporting
  • Coordinate the Campus Improvement Planning (CIP) process for each campus including training, support, and review of plans through the formative and summative process
  • Maintain a calendar with all dates including application, reporting, audits, amendments for supplemental or TEA grant(s), and the three areas of ESSA: CIP, PNP, PFE
  • Remain current on and comply with policies established by federal and state law, the State Board of Education, Texas Education Agency, and local board policy.
  • Serve on various advisory committees and planning teams within BISD as appropriate
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
