MLive seeks a news reporter who will focus on covering the Grand Rapids area, home to Michigans second-largest city, several major attractions, including new ones being built, and high-interest news stories. What well expect from you:

Ability to identify and develop important stories that resonate with everyday residents.

A minimum of two years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing.

A degree in journalism, communications or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

A willingness to ask the tough questions and being curious about whats happening in the Grand Rapids community.

Ability to tell stories in smart and engaging ways and a willingness to experiment with different storytelling forms.

Familiarity with or willingness to learn new tools and software, including our content management system for publishing stories and photographs.

Ability to work independently and remotely.

This job requires reliable transportation to meet with sources and cover events.
