List Of Responsibilities For Material Handler
- Unload trucks, check in bar stock, match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to production cells for machining.
- Examine material received, verify material numbers, and check discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked material and/or improper/incomplete supporting paperwork.
- Review production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production area.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to designated areas.
- Sort and place bar stock on racks, shelves, or bins.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
