Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our medical team. The Histology Technician will be responsible for preparing and analyzing human tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. This role plays a crucial part in aiding physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare tissue specimens for examination under the microscope
- Embed tissue samples in paraffin blocks
- Cut thin sections of tissue samples for microscopic examination
- Stain tissue samples with special dyes to highlight specific structures
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Keep accurate records of tests performed and results obtained
Skills:
- Proficient in histological techniques including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital or laboratory setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen preparation
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks
- Basic life support skills
- Experience with medication administration and patient care
- Ability to monitor vital signs during procedures
